Does eye donation disfigure the face?
No. Only the thin corneal tissue is retrieved by trained medical staff. The procedure is dignified and leaves no visible disfigurement.
Is there any cost to the donor's family?
Never. Retrieval, transport, and coordination are entirely free for donor families. No one pays to donate or to be placed on the recipient waitlist.
How quickly must donation happen?
Corneas are best retrieved within 6 hours of passing. Our 24/7 line and district teams are built to respond within that critical window.
Does my religion permit eye donation?
Major faiths regard eye donation as an act of compassion and charity. We work with community and religious leaders to honour each family's beliefs.
Do I need to tell my family?
Yes, please do. A pledge is honoured best when family knows your wishes, because final donation always involves family consent at the time.
